Meadowfields Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for 24 hours per week on a permanent contract, with a zero-hour (bank contract) option available.
The Senior Care Assistant will report to the Care Manager and be responsible for all aspects of the physical and emotional care of clients, providing leadership to the team, including supervision and training of staff. The role involves close liaison with professional agents.
We seek a well-organised individual, adept at allocating and delegating work appropriately, with proven ability to lead and supervise others, and good understanding of care. You should be trained, or willing to teach, administer medication, and contribute to, monitor, and implement changes that improve residents' outcomes.

Duties will include:
- Taking responsibility for the home and ensuring it meets company objectives in the absence of the Care Manager.
- Administering and recording medication as required in accordance with the Medication Policy.
- Giving a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to the residents, noting any changes.
- Maintaining liaison with professionals in a multi-agency approach.
- Providing supervision and support to the staff team.
- Participating in the planning of care programmes and preparing care review reports.
- Assessing the care practice of all staff, ensuring the objectives of the home are met.
- Supervising and being involved in all aspects of the holistic care of the resident group.
- Maintaining administration and monitoring systems that comply with legal requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Working flexible hours to meet the needs of the home.
- Attending staff training courses and meetings.
The successful Senior Care Assistant will have:
- Medication experience and all relevant certifications.
- Own transport or ability to get to work; public transport is present.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Flexibility in shift patterns.
- Working towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
