Night Care Assistant – 30 Hours per Week
Location: Stennards Leisure retirement home, Frankley Beeches Road, Birmingham
Hours: 30 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 3 nights per week MONDAY 9PM-7AM WEDNESDAY 9PM-7AM AND FRIDAY 10PM-8AM.
About Us
We are a family-run elderly care home in Northfield, Birmingham, providing a warm, friendly and supportive home for our residents. We pride ourselves on treating every resident as an individual and creating a safe, comfortable environment where people feel valued and cared for.
We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Night Care Assistant to join our small and dedicated team.
The Role
Working three night shifts per week, from 9:00pm to 7:00am or 10pm-8am, you will help ensure our residents are safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing person-centred care and support to our elderly residents
- Supporting residents with their bedtime and night‑time routines
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Checking on residents throughout the night
- Responding to residents’ needs and call bells
- Supporting residents with dignity, kindness and respect
- Keeping accurate care records and reporting any concerns
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment
- Working as part of a supportive and friendly team
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, compassionate and patient
- Reliable and responsible
- Comfortable working night shifts
- Respectful and understanding towards elderly people
- A good communicator and team player
- Able to remain calm and reassuring when dealing with residents
- Willing to learn and follow care procedures
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided for the right person.
