Responsibilities

Management: Working closely with your engineering colleagues to ensure they have the essential materials, exam kits, special tooling and calibrated instruments they need for a smooth operation.
- Keeping Records on Track: Using our SAP system to maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all inventory stored and issued materials.
- Ensuring Safety Compliance: Storing all goods in line with Health and Safety standards, keeping both people and products safe.
- Hands-On with Logistics: Operating a forklift truck and other equipment to receive, store, and deliver goods in a safety-critical environment.
- Proactively Managing Inventory: Conducting regular stock checks to ensure that our inventory remains accurate and up-to-date.
- Customer focused: Deliver and top up line side materials to keep our engineering colleagues "on the job".
Qualifications and Qualifications Requirements
Are you
- Organised and Detail-Focused? You’ll be managing a diverse inventory, including calibrated goods, so precision and organisation are key.
• Confident and Proactive?
You’ll be supporting Engineering colleagues at the Traincare centre and beyond, so good communication and building relationships are key to keep everything running smoothly.
- Forklift-Savvy? Previous forklift experience is a plus, but full training will be provided if not.
- Customer-Focused? You’re committed to supporting our engineering team to deliver top performance every day.
Please note this role is safety-critical and subject to Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) regulations.
You MUST meet the following criteria for this position, or your application will be automatically rejected:
- Currently live within a 45-minute car journey from the station you’ll work from.
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Pass the safety-critical medical assessment, including drugs and alcohol screening.
- Not have defective colour vision.
