Role/ Department:
The Family Office Consulting and Advisory Services Lead (FOC) is responsible for the design and launch of a FOC and advisory offering that brings the best of Northern Trust's global expertise, wisdom and experience to families who are faced with the challenges of managing wealth and navigating their future's together. The Practice lead will report into the Head of Relationship Management for EMEA & APAC.
The FOC group will aid in addressing the complex financial requirements of families and their private investment offices across EMEA, APAC and the International market. The candidate will have broad knowledge of the financial, accounting, legal and investment landscape and be able to work with COIs to curate a network of advisors to support the FOC practice.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Work closely with GFO Leadership, The NT Institute and broader SMEs to design and implement a new FOC service capability for clients and prospects in EMEA & APAC.
- Engage with other service providers including legal, accountancy, recruitment, banking (M&A) practices to explore routes of collaboration
- Build a robust pricing strategy for the FOC product
- Responsible for building and implementing a centralised, repeatable set of processes and procedures that can be leveraged to deliver a consistent FOC framework.
- Develop marketing collateral and thought leadership to showcase FOC capabilities, as well as GFO resources and expertise.
- Work with the appropriate teams within GFO to define a strategy and annual plan for additional communities (e.g. Next Gen) with input from clients/prospects.
- Partner with Marketing as appropriate to develop surveys, analyse the results and summarise key findings in thought leadership pieces to inform participants and the FOC practice.
- Develop educational materials and thought leadership pieces to promote FOC Services and GFO brand expansion
- Champion the FOC initiative within GFO and beyond and serve as a resource for the sales team, executive team and GFO relationship managers to answer questions about FOC capabilities, engagement and scope.
- Explore new distribution channels (e.g. blog, webinars, video interviews with SMEs, podcast) for GFO thought leadership.
- Source and recruit additional expertise to support the FOC's growth – considerations in regard to product gaps, language needs, skill set enhancement.
- Ensure that Northern Trust or its clients are not exposed to excessive or inappropriate risk by working in collaboration with internal legal and risk groups.
- Works with internal partners throughout the bank to facilitate implementation of solutions
- to client needs.

Experience / Knowledge/Skills:

- Detailed knowledge of the family office landscape, operating models and infrastructure

- Proven skillset in translation of industry / client themes and trends into actionable strategy, partnering effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituents
- A client focus mentality which allows to solicit, acquire, and act on information from customers concerning their current and future needs, issues, and challenges
- Strong communication written/oral skills, ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and concise manner
- Ability to engage a diverse set of stakeholders, build long-term relationships, and create a collaborative and approachable environment
- Being commercially minded, having a proven track record of developing revenue for new and existing clients and of generating leads and opportunities
