Northern Trust is proud to provide innovative financial services and guidance to the world’s most successful individuals, families, and institutions by remaining true to our enduring principles of service, expertise, and integrity. With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.
Northern Trust Asset Management (“NTAM”) is seeking a Database and Content Specialist to join our global RFP team. The role may be physically based in Chicago, Illinois or London, UK, with close collaboration across our global RFP team. As such, we are looking for a candidate with a strong global mindset, comfortable working across regions, time zones, and cultures.
The RFP teams sit within the Global Institutional Client Group (GICG) and are responsible for the timely and high‑quality completion of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), and ad hoc requests from distribution partners. The team also maintains third‑party consultant databases that house detailed information on our investment products.
The successful candidate will partner closely with our Consultant Database Specialist, supporting platforms such as eVestment and Omni Complete, and will work alongside our Content Specialist, providing support through Qvidian. This role requires strong attention to detail, collaboration across global stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively within a globally distributed team.
Role Summary: As a Database and Content Specialist within NTAM’s global RFP function, the role supports client and consultant relationships through high‑quality content and data management across multiple geographies. Working closely with Client Relationship Managers, Sales Specialists, Consultant Relations Directors, and global subject matter experts, the partner will manage and maintain information across eVestment and other third‑party consultant databases, as well as maintain and enhance RFP content within the Qvidian platform. This is a globally integrated role, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across regions and time zones. The successful candidate will bring a global mindset, strong attention to detail, and relevant experience managing RFP and consultant database content. Direct experience with NTAM’s platforms is highly valued; however, experience with other RFP and content management systems (such as RFPIO, Loopio, Dasseti, or similar tools) is considered transferable.
The role involves receiving and processing monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc data requests, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of firm and product information across multiple consultant database platforms. The specialist will collaborate extensively with cross‑functional teams—including Client Reporting, Compliance, Performance Attribution, Client Portfolio Management, Risk, and Technology—to maintain comprehensive and up‑to‑date profiles within third‑party consultant databases and Qvidian, NTAM’s global RFP content library.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Respond to, coordinate, and assemble information for regular consultant database updates to support consultant and client relationships using Evestment and Omni Complete and other third-party platforms.
- Add value to global database and content management processes by proactively liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), following up as needed to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of responses.
- Assist the content manager in maintaining the RFP database (Qvidian) by engaging with SMEs, flagging outdated or expired content, and ensuring consistency across all submissions and platforms.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams globally to ensure firm‑level and product‑level information remains accurate, current, and aligned across consultant databases and RFP responses.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- College degree required, preferably in finance or economics.
- 1-3 years of experience in financial services; experience in asset management is preferred.
- Experience with RFP and consultant database platforms is key. Direct experience with Evestment, Omni Complete and Qvidian desirable; experience with other platforms (e.g., RFPIO, Loopio, DASSA/TI Diligence, or comparable systems) is highly transferable and valued.
- General knowledge of equity and fixed income investment concepts.
- Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities and workflows within a fast‑paced, globally distributed environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and quality‑control skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage proactively with global stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Teams).
