The Enterprise Data Modeler will be responsible for the design, implementation and documentation of data architecture and data modelling solutions which includes the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.
These solutions will support enterprise information management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests.
The role will also work independently and will be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models as needed, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and governing the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices.
- Defining logical and physical data models based on business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning).
- Working with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models
- Defining and governing data modeling and design standards where needed or utilize existing standards and guidelines for best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
- Assist in identifying the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytic models, and data visualization.
- Direct modeling, including design, configuration, installation, and performance tuning.
- Working proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.
The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following skills & experience:
- Prior experience in direct data modeling or analytical experience using RDBMS, dimensional, and data ingestion protocols.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer or data program or related experience.
- Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required.
- Good knowledge of modern metadata management, data modelling, and related tools required.
- Experience in team collaboration, communication, and presentation.
- Experience with Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse), Snowflake and Databricks a plus
- Experience with data governance tools a plus
