Role

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is an over a trillion dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realize their long-term objectives. The Associate Portfolio Manager supports Portfolio Managers in portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring, and investment research. The role combines investment analysis, quantitative research, technology, and AI innovation to enhance investment decision-making and portfolio outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Portfolio Managers in managing fixed income portfolios and implementing investment strategies.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, and market developments.
  • Analyze economic, market, and company information to support investment decisions.
  • Develop quantitative models and perform data analysis to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Build and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and automated workflows.
  • Utilize Python, SQL, and other programming languages to improve investment processes.
  • Design and develop AI-powered tools and agents to support research, portfolio monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations, investment reports, and internal materials.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve investment processes through technology and innovation.

Qualifications
