For Summer 2026, Derby Theatre and Northern Stage will produce the cult classic, Little Shop of Horrors – the deliciously dark, delightfully tongue-in-cheek musical that has charmed audiences for over 40 years. Packed with unforgettable songs like Skid Row (Downtown), Suddenly Seymour, and Feed Me (Git It), this outrageous musical promises killer tunes, unexpected laughs and larger-than-life characters.
We are looking for energetic, talented and versatile Actor Musicians to join the cast of this production of Little Shop of Horrors. You must be able to play at least one and preferably two of the following instruments: guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, brass – sax, trumpet, trombone. Self-tapes may also be required. Closing date for submissions is 12pm on Friday 7th November.
In Derby from 7th April 2026, and then moving to Newcastle on Saturday 2nd May 2026.

MR MUSHNIK: Seymour and Audrey's boss. A failure of a middle-class New York East Side florist. Good singing voice required. Vocal range top: High E Flat, Vocal range bottom: Low G. ORIN: A tall, egotistical, handsome dentist with a black leather jacket and sadistic tendencies. Good rock and roll sound. Instruments: Please see above. You will also be required to play other small roles in some scenes. Ethnicities: All ethnicities.
CRYSTAL: Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon are three street urchins who participate in the action but also function as a type of Greek Chorus outside it. They're young, hip, smart and the only people in the story who really know what's going on.
