We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our busy food manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime across a labour-intensive manufacturing environment, and have full autonomy as the permanent nights, electrical engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and performance.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with food safety standards.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.

Skills & Experience

  • Time-served apprentice or recognised engineering qualification (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems, including PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Experience within food, FMCG, or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of motors, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Desirable

  • Experience with flow wrapping equipment, industrial ovens, and bulk material handling systems (silos).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • PLC fault-finding experience (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley).
