Industrial Systems Technology Limited (ITS) are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic apprentice to join their team as an Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will gain their AAT level 3 qualification. Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will work towards an AAT Level 3 qualification while gaining practical experience in a professional finance department. You will support day-to-day financial operations and learn core accounting skills in a real business environment. Applicants are required to already have their AAT Level 2 or T Level in Accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Transactions
- Assist with processing purchase orders, invoices, expenses, and credit notes
- Help maintain accurate purchase and sales ledger records
- Support reconciliation of supplier statements and resolve basic queries
- Assist with customer and supplier account queries
- Banking and Reconciliation
- Help post daily bank transactions
- Assist with bank reconciliations
- Support monitoring of cash receipts and payments
- Month-End & Reporting Support
- Assist with month-end reconciliations
- Help compile basic financial reports and spreadsheets
- Support preparation of VAT information and returns
- Administration & Systems
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems
- Ensure financial documentation is stored accurately and securely
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Follow company financial processes and controls
- Training & Development
- Work towards AAT Level 2 or Level 3 (depending on entry level)
- Off-the-job training provided through an approved training provider
- On-the-job mentoring from experienced finance professionals
- Development of workplace skills including communication, teamwork, and problem solving
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries. Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes. Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts. Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts. Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations. Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders. Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand. Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications. Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
Requirements:
- GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent (grade 4 or above)
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
