Training Co‑Ordinator – Blackpool

Location: Northern Blackpool, England, United Kingdom. Flexible with expectation of working across the North West (free travel is provided).

Hours: Full-time.

Salary: £37,379.

As Training Co‑Ordinator you’ll be the vital link between our driver training team and depot operations, ensuring training is delivered smoothly and efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating route learning in line with agreed training plans.
  • Working with depot teams to balance training coverage and driver release.
  • Supporting minor and Driver Instructor allocations and keeping training dashboards up to date.
  • Linking with train planning and operations to scope and deliver training diagrams.
  • Using data and insight to highlight where training can improve productivity and service coverage.
  • Supporting trade union engagement activities and providing updates at depot council meetings.
  • Building strong working relationships with depot managers, drivers, conductors, and trade union partners.
  • Spending regular time at depots (typically 2–3 days a week).
  • Contributing to longer‑term training allocation strategies.

About you

  • Strong interpersonal skills; building relationships with depot colleagues and trade union partners.
  • Resilience and persistence in a highly unionised environment.
  • Confidence with Excel; familiarity with IRMA or TRACS Rosters a bonus.
  • Understanding of traincrew terms and conditions and rostering principles.
  • Analytical mindset to identify training impacts using available data and tools.
  • Collaborative approach, balancing competing needs and driving improvements.
