Overview
Role: Train Cleaner Team Leader (Onsite) – Grade: TPL – Night Shift | Salary: £27,014 per annum | Hours: 35 per week
We are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team of Train Cleaners and lead them to success. You will support and lead your Train Cleaning team to deliver spotlessly clean trains and a welcoming environment for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Shift Management: Ensure the successful running of the shift from start to finish. Communicate shift requirements and organise workloads.
- Health and Safety: Always adhere to Health and Safety protocols and procedures.
- Team Support: Provide continuous support, reinforce high standards to team members and newcomers, and collaborate with cleaning teams to complete tasks.
- Relationship Building: Confidently interact with diverse teams and individuals.
- Leadership: Lead a team to maintain Northern’s high cleaning standards.
- Pride in Work: Pay attention to detail and take pride in contributions.
- Communication: Demonstrate excellent verbal communication.
- Initiative: Think on your feet, address questions, and resolve issues within the team.
Requirements
- Adaptable and resilient; comfortable working outdoors and onboard trains, with varying weather conditions.
- Natural Leader: enjoy teamwork and also lead by example to ensure high cleaning standards.
- Keen to Learn and Grow: No prior cleaning experience required; comprehensive training provided.
- Flexible: Able to adapt to varying schedules, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Safety-critical role: Must meet RSSB criteria. You MUST meet the following to be eligible:
- Live within a 45-minute car journey from the station you work from.
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Pass the safety critical medical assessment, including drugs and alcohol screening.
- Not have defective colour vision.
