Do you want to help power your career and be part of an evolving energy industry? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Works Coordinator to join our Humber Estuary team. The energy industry is advancing with investment in smart technology innovation and Northern Powergrid, as the company responsible for powering everyday life for 8 million customers across 3.9 million homes and businesses in the Northeast, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire, is at the forefront of delivering a power network that meets the region’s needs, now and in the future.

Works Co-ordinators are responsible for the planning, management and delivery of regional project work including faults/repairs, reinforcement, connections, maintenance and overhead work on the LV/HV network to meet business needs.

Along with a competitive salary between £39,923 - £51,396 (Ind L3 pp7-12) and 25 days holiday, we’re excited to hear from candidates with a passion for our company and the industry and a desire to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Works coordination and management of mass LCT (Low Carbon Technology) schemes, fuse upgrades and service alterations projects, safely and to time, cost and quality.
  • Effective Site management of resources, including direct labour and contractors.
  • Able to prioritise workload, make decisions and identify cost effective delivery solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, Low Carbon Technology providers and stakeholders delivering a 10/10 service.
  • Support weekly operational contract meetings with external service providers.
  • Process applications for payment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carry out site audits in respect of safety, quality and contractual obligations.
  • Order materials for use by service providers.
  • Create electronic job packs to accurately convey delivery of works.
  • Manage all aspects of outage planning for your allocated projects.
  • Fully utilise Northern Powergrid’s IT system (iSmart, eAMspatial).
  • Team working - A shared and committed approach to teamwork.
  • Time management - Ability to prioritise workload when demands are conflicting.
  • Leadership skills - Be receptive and embrace change and strive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Attributes

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • IT Literate with all Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of the distribution network.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering.
  • ILM Level 3 or NEBOSH equivalent.
  • Project Management.
  • Electrical Trade / Engineering Background.
  • Advanced Knowledge of LV and HV networks.
  • Knowledge in IT systems such as CRM, QPID, ISMART.
