The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for to join Major Projects operations team as a Project Delivery Team Leader managing a team of engineers who operate primarily in the North Lincolnshire and Humber areas. The position can be based at Hull, Brigg, Hellaby, Dunnington or Castleford.

What will you do?

As a dedicated Project Delivery Team Leader, you will be managing a team of operational engineers (Senior Authorised Persons) delivering varied construction projects safely and to time, cost and quality. You will be responsible for the training and development of all new operational engineers in your team, plus the operational excellence and safety performance of your team. You will also be an active operational engineer supporting all SAP activities carried out by your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Effective management and utilisation of resources

• Effective team management, leadership and supervision

• Line management of your team

• Leading the training and development of your team

• Carryout operational assessments

• Carryout operational duties to support your team and the wider business, including 24/7 restoration.

• Accident and incident investigation

• Ensure adequate network risk management by your team

• Undertake safety, operational, quality, environmental and business process audits

Key Competencies

• Operational excellence as a role model for your team

• HV and EHV operational experience and authorisations

• Hold existing UK based Senior Authorised Person authorisations and regularly use these authorisations.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills and experience

• Extensive experience of delivering projects to time, cost and quality

We’re excited to hear from candidates with existing Senior Authorised Person authorisations along with a passion for our company and the industry and a desire to succeed.

Does this sound like you?

•You will have significant experience of delivering projects as a Senior Authorised Person for a UK based company. You will already hold EHV SAP authorisations, or alternatively you will already be an HV SAP in all disciplines and have considerable operational management experience.

•You will have detailed current knowledge of safety procedures, specifically CDM regulations and UK based electrical safety rules, and you will hold current Senior Authorised Person authorisations operating to UK safety rules.

•Team working and team management is essential in this role. You will be part of a high-performing team delivering technical projects for our customers

•Excellent Leadership skills

•Excellent verbal and written skills , with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders from across the business and wider industry

What qualifications and experience should you have?

•HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least three years of relevant operational experience as an SAP.

•Hold existing HV or EHV Senior Authorised Person status operating on a UK based distribution or transmission network, or UK based privately operated electricity network.

•NEBOSH/IOSH or similar qualification
