Role Purpose

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will be based out of either our Newcastle or Sunderland offices and play a key role in supporting the wider Talent Acquisition team by supporting the end-to-end recruitment activity of various roles across Northern Powergrid, while providing a first-class candidate and hiring manager experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end recruitment delivery by partnering with the Business Partners. This includes briefings, advertising, conducting initial telephone interviews, coordinating interviews and assessment centres, providing candidate feedback, and guiding hiring managers through the process.
  • Use various channels such as job boards, social media, and professional networks to identify and attract potential candidates, and manage our spend across our various channels.
  • Proactively source talent using LinkedIn, CV databases, social media platforms, and our internal Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to build strong candidate pipelines.
  • Maintain and update candidate records within Oracle (ATS system). Ensuring all data is accurate, up-to-date, and categorised for fast talent matching.
  • Drive process improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment workflows and collaborating with the team to implement best practices.
  • Act as ATS Superuser, managing system functionality, creating and updating processes, developing email templates, and providing technical support to the team.
  • Contribute to strategic projects within the Talent Acquisition team that align with Northern Powergrid’s business goals and workforce planning objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Onboarding team to ensure a seamless transition for candidates from offer stage to becoming a future employee.
  • Support our agency engagement and the relationship with our temp labour supplier.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

  • Have some experience in a recruitment / talent acquisition environment.
  • Ability to deal efficiently with high volume tasks.
  • Proficient IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • Some previous experience within an Inhouse TA Team, an agency or RPO.
  • Knowledge of recruiting in a regulatory industry.
  • Experience using a candidate management / ATS system.
  • Desire to develop a long-term career in an in-house recruitment environment.
