Drive the development and improvement of Group Accounting and Reporting processes, helping Northern Powergrid strengthen how financial performance is consolidated, controlled and reported across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our Finance Transformation programme. You'll bring strong Group Accounting expertise, working across a complex, multi-entity environment and helping us improve the way financial information is consolidated, reported and understood.
You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and Technology, combining technical accounting knowledge with a real focus on process improvement, better reporting and smarter ways of working.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading Group Accounting and consolidation activities across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Supporting statutory, management and parent company reporting, applying your knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP within a complex Group environment.
- Managing key consolidation activities including intercompany accounting, eliminations, reconciliations and foreign currency impacts.
- Helping improve month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate processes.
- Bringing the Group Finance perspective to our wider Finance Transformation programme, including the implementation of Oracle Fusion and Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC).
- Working collaboratively across Finance and Technology, using your expertise to challenge existing approaches, solve problems and help shape better processes and reporting.
About You:
We're looking for someone with strong Group Accounting experience who understands the complexities of bringing together financial information from multiple entities.
You'll be technically confident but also a strong communicator. You won't be afraid to ask questions, challenge existing approaches and suggest better ways of doing things.
You may currently be working as a Group Accountant, Group Reporting Accountant, Consolidation Accountant, Group Financial Accountant or Senior Group Accountant.
You'll Ideally Have:
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or significant relevant experience.
- Strong experience of Group Accounting, consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, ideally with exposure to US reporting requirements.
- Experience of Group reporting, financial close, intercompany accounting and consolidations.
- A strong track record of improving processes and ways of working, rather than simply maintaining existing reporting.
- Confidence working with different stakeholders, challenging where appropriate and turning complex financial requirements into practical solutions.
- Experience of Oracle Fusion/FCC, Finance Transformation, foreign exchange accounting, Power BI or SQL would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in people with strong Group Accounting expertise who can demonstrate the ability to learn, improve and influence.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to do more than simply produce Group accounts. You'll help shape how Group Accounting and Reporting operates in the future, improving processes, controls and financial visibility as part of a major Finance Transformation programme.
Along with a competitive salary of Β£45,000 - Β£55,000, we also offer:
- 10% Performance Bonus
