The Digital L&D Lead will be responsible for shaping and delivering our digital learning strategy and administrative processes that support the delivery of learning interventions. You will drive the design, development, and implementation of engaging, effective, and innovative digital learning solutions that meet the evolving needs of our workforce, ensuring a robust approach to monitoring, evaluating and reporting learning transfer and competency. The Digital L&D Lead will manage a small team incorporating Digital Learning Design and L&D Administration, fostering a collaborative environment working with L&D and OD Partners and SMEs across the business to achieve our learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Digital Learning Strategy & Leadership
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive digital learning strategy aligned with the overall L&D and business objectives.
- Champion the adoption of new learning technologies and methodologies to enhance the learner experience and maximise learning impact.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital learning and instructional design.
- Provide expert guidance and thought leadership on all aspects of digital learning.
- Content Design & Development Oversight
- Collaborate closely with SMEs and HRBPs to conduct thorough needs analysis, identifying skills gaps and development opportunities, translating complex information into clear, concise, and engaging digital learning experiences.
- Propose designs for innovative digital and/or blended learning solutions and systems simulations, aligned with business objectives, overseeing the end-to-end digital learning content development lifecycle and supporting the creation of materials where required.
- Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance for all digital learning materials developed by the team.
- Ensure all digital learning solutions are accessible, inclusive, and adhere to brand guidelines and technical standards.
- Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of digital learning programs.
- Analyse learning data and provide regular reports on key learning metrics to stakeholders, identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating ROI.
- Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve digital learning offerings.
- Platform Management & Technology
- Manage and optimise our learning platforms to ensure exceptional delivery of digital content.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to digital learning platforms and content.
- Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a Digital Learning Designer and an L&D Administrator, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and meaningful performance discussions, providing constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workloads are managed and deadlines are met.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and innovative team environment.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience managing and developing direct reports within a learning and development context.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Exceptional instructional design skills with a strong understanding of adult learning theories.
- Creativity and artistry, with an ability to create engaging, interactive learning.
- Good technical skills, including the full Microsoft Office suite, design tools (e.g. Canva, Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Adobe Creative Cloud and other authoring tools) and Learning Management Systems (Oracle Learning Cloud or similar).
- Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Training/Learning/Educational qualification such as CIPD, TAP, PTTLLS or similar.
- Prior experience of designing digital learning programmes, including the creation of blended learning solutions in conjunction with in-person learning.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG).
