Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Design and development of projects for network reconfiguration to enable demand and generation growth and any upgrade or replacement of existing assets.
  • Undertaking power system studies to understand the implications of network additions and any network reconfiguration.
  • Design and investment justification for the provision of electricity distribution system works of any complexity at all distribution voltages.
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements for specific projects.
  • Working with other business units to develop new solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
  • An understanding of electricity distribution networks.
  • Ability to deliver quality through others.
  • Communication – able to communicate with a wide range of people in an effective and persuasive manner.
  • Customer Service – able to deliver effective customer service both internally and externally.
  • Team working – able to work effectively with others across a wide variety of teams.
  • IT Skills – able to use a variety of analytical software.

Qualifications and Attributes

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree (or HNC with experience) in STEM related subject.
  • Knowledge of electricity distribution networks.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • A proven ability to manage engineering project teams.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks.
