An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Business Development Lead to join our Commercial team. As a Business Development Lead, you will develop the market opportunity for diversification of investment into new meter markets and Low Carbon Technologies. You will also identify, cultivate and win new business. Apply now and we’ll be in touch. Key Responsibilities: Assess the viability to diversify capital investment into other investment streams. Develop business cases for the investment into water metering, Industrial & Commercial metering, Low Carbon Technologies, micro grid, independent networks and assess the viability for overseas investment. Developing a business development strategy focused on financial gain specifically focused on alternative investment. Conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs. Promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives. Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers. Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services. Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients. Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and stay up to date with new trends. Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them. Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s services, the competition in the industry and positioning. Regular travel to various locations to attend business meetings, client interactions and industry events. Qualifications and Attributes Essential qualifications and experience: Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant subject/role. Relevant experience in a sales or business development role. Experience working within the Utility sector. Desirable qualifications and experience: Sales and marketing qualifications. Knowledge and experience of renewable energy market. Knowledge of new energy market and emerging opportunities. An understanding and experience of market regulations in relation to smart technology.
