The Marine Personnel Specialist will support the wider Personnel Operations Team, bringing personnel expertise within our head office and ensuring long-term crew planning and scheduling, crew engagement, with a focus on qualified, experienced, and competent seafarers. The role will ensure compliance with company and client requirements for all technically managed vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage crew scheduling for our technical managed fleet to meet commercial and client demands.
  • Coordinate with the crew management team, operations, and recruitment to plan seafarer rotations and maintain manning levels within budget.
  • Ensure ships have the appropriate vessel type experience and compliance with OCIMF / Owner matrix.
  • Maintain training matrices and P010 procedures, identifying training needs.
  • Update staff rotations in COMPAS, run reports to monitor compliance.
  • Handle seafarer queries and coordinate responses.
  • Support crew onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Communicate with external partners including manning agencies.
  • Resolve scheduling issues promptly and analyze to prevent future issues.
  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate global travel for shipboard teams, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Understand STCW requirements and update team accordingly.
  • Participate in meetings and reporting for client deliverables.
  • Perform other relevant tasks and projects as needed.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of ISM, STCW, MLC, TMSA requirements.
  • Experience in a scheduling role within the marine industry or similar sector.
  • Familiarity with complex crewing systems like COMPAS.
  • Ability to run scenarios and risk analyses.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and KPI/SLA compliance.
