Job Description:
The Junior Purchasing Officer supports the Operational and Strategic Purchasing functions by supporting with administrative tasks, data entry and record keeping. The role will also provide purchasing support to a reduced allocation of vessels. A key part of the role is having a wide view of the purchasing function and processes and being able to identify where support is required in what is a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Data entry, order management and expedition of orders and RFQ’s in Aurora and Agresso purchasing systems.
- Liaising with other business units, departments and stakeholders on supply related issues and updates.
- Day to day assistance for the Purchasing Group
- Housekeeping of the Aurora purchasing system.
- Local stock management.
- Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and associated administrative processes.
- Provide a constant source of quality goods and services to the fleet of managed vessels of various age and class trading on a global basis.
- Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
- Provide regular feedback on Approved Vendor performance.
- You may be asked from time to time to undertake other tasks relevant to your position.
- Implement and manage third party logistics.
- A strong understanding of how to manage ESG and the supply chain.
- Occasional travel is required.
