3rd Engineer at Northern Marine Manning Services
Northern Marine Manning Services are currently looking to recruit a 3rd Engineer to join our client's Hospital Ship on the 30th August for 3 months.
Experience Required
You must have at least 6 months at sea in a similar role on a large cruise / passenger ship.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all systems that handle and process waste outside of the engine room.
- Manage the waste handling equipment and systems onboard.
- Manage the treatment and disposal of shipboard‑generated waste.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance carried out in the company's planned maintenance system.
- Manage the inventory of spare parts onboard and order as needed.
- Stand watch in the machinery spaces if required, according to the STCW Certificate of Competency.
- Carry out all lawful orders given by Chief Engineer and Second Engineer.
- Ensure the safe operation of all machinery.
- Maintain records of waste as per MARPOL regulations and the company’s procedures.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of ship's emergency procedures, including specific knowledge of the working condition of fixed emergency response systems.
- Understand the Company Safety Management System as it applies to the responsibilities of this position.
- Report immediately to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer whenever anything unforeseen happens.
Essential Certification
- III/1 OIC of Engineering Watch 3000 k W or greater.
- Seafarer’s Book.
- Passport.
- STCW VI/1 Basic Training.
- Seaman's Medical Certificate.
- STCW V/2-1 Crowd Management.
- STCW VI/6-1 Security Awareness.
- STCW Advanced MN Fire Fighting A-VI/3.
- STCW Crisis Management and Human Behaviour A-V/2.
- STCW Crowd Management A-V/2(7) & Passenger Safety A-V/2 (6).
- STCW Medical First Aid A-VI/4-1.
- STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats A-VI/2-1.
Successful candidates must also be compliant with the vessel's mandatory vaccination requirements prior to joining.
