NORTHERN LIGHTHOUSE BOARD Are recruiting for Electrical Project Engineer – (Edinburgh/ Hybrid) About us The Northern Lighthouse Board is the General Lighthouse Authority for Scotland and the Isle of Man, responsible for the superintendence and management of all lighthouses, buoys and beacons within those waters. We have provided this vital safety service to mariners since 1786. The Role – Overview Working within a compact multi-disciplinary Project Team you will work with the Project Leader on both basic and detailed designs of lighthouse projects. This involves site surveys , producing engineering AutoCAD (2d) drawings, bills of quantities for both the fixed electrical installation and the electrical systems. Designs will be developed in line with established design principles focusing, when possible, on a renewable energy approach whilst maintaining a navigational system with a requirement for 99.9% reliability. Active project sites will require regular inspection visits to ensure construction works are progressing to plan. This role will involve an amount of commissioning work, working within the NLB’s commissioning team. Salary and Benefits · £41,244 per annum rising to £45,374 after 1 year in post. · Hybrid Working – the successful candidate will be able to work a mixture of home, site and office working. · A Civil Service Pension with an average employer contribution of 28% · Annual Leave allowance of 25 days, rising by 1 day per year of service up to 30 days · 11.5 days for Public Holidays · Generous sick pay scheme and family leave policies. · Excellent training and development opportunities Our ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experience…. · Qualified to a minimum of HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering · Established knowledge and experience of AutoCAD. · An understanding of DC and large battery storage systems. · Practical craft skills/commissioning work. · Electrical System Integration and Project Experience is preferable.
