Purpose of Position |
To instruct Norse Fitness classes in a fun, safe and effective manner. Provide an encouraging and motivating atmosphere while helping participants achieve their fitness goals. Retain participants by building relationships while providing excellent customer service. |
Primary Responsibilities |
1.Represent the Department of Campus Recreation as a Group Fitness Instructor for the Fitness Program in a positive and responsible manner. 2. Provide excellent customer service. 3. Develop safe and effective group exercise classes based on given format. 4. Keep all certifications up to date through continuing education etc. 5. Educate participants about the fitness benefits of each exercise within the class. 6. Attend ALL mandatory trainings/meetings. 8. Teach accident prevention and proper techniques within given format. 9. Clear communication is a must. |
Qualifications |
A.General: 1. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. 2. Ability to work independently without constant supervision. 3. Must be friendly and customer service oriented. 4. Must be punctual and professional at all times. 5. Ability to teach at a variety of times. 6. Ability to attend all in-service trainings and meetings. 7. Must have a National Certification such as AFAA- Primary Group Fitness, ACE – Group Fitness Instructor, Zumba, etc. B.Skill: 1. CPR/AED, and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain. C.Physical: 1. To maintain fitness level required to be a group fitness instructor. 2. Attend and perform successfully at ALL in-service meetings/trainings. THIS POSITION DOES NOT INCLUDE BENEFITS.
