FYSSH Peer Coach

Position Information

Oce hours: M-F, 8:15am-4:30pm. Peer Coaches work 15-20 hours each week within the First-Year Student Success Hub oce hours.

Must be able to attend training August 11th-15th (8:15am-4:30pm each day) and scheduled office hours beginning the week of August 18th.

Within the First-Year Student Success Hub, Peer Coaches provide an opportunity for freshmen to discuss their goals and concerns with another student who understands the challenges that come with the transition from high school to college. Peer Coaches hold initial appointments with ALL new freshmen, work closely with Pathfinder students, explore majors with undeclared students, and discuss study strategies pertaining to each students study type. Additionally, Peer Coaches help staff our Pathfinder Study Tables, First-Year Student Success Hub front desk, and other essential duties as needed to effectively support the greater mission of NKU.

Interested students must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2025 semester.

The selected candidates will be asked to make at least a two-semester commitment to working with the First-Year Student Success Hub.

Ideal qualifications include a positive attitude about NKU, involvement in campus activities, and a desire to help new students. Must possess strong communication, technology and time management skills.

Student must be very organized, detail-oriented, responsible and able to work in a professional environment. All interested students must fill out an online student employment application.
