Admissions counselors will manage an assigned recruitment territory that requires developing and maintaining contacts with school counselors, organizations, agencies and clubs for the purposes of recruiting students. Counselors will travel frequently within and outside of normal business hours to represent the university at recruitment events and activities. Counselors will counsel students and parents about postsecondary educational opportunities and recruit them to NKU as well as conduct individual and group information sessions and provide occasional tours of campus. Assist in overall planning, leadership, and functions of the Office of Admissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a recruitment territory that requires developing and maintaining contacts with guidance counselors, schools, and organizations for the purposes of recruiting students. Significant travel included.
- Plan and implement assigned recruitment and yield programs.
- Provide pre-admissions counseling to students/families who call the office, attend an on-campus or off-campus event, or walk into the office.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key constituents across campus.
- Serve as the primary contact person for NKU departments and employees for questions related to visit and admission opportunities.
- Communicate with students and parents consistently via email, phone, text, and mail.
- Update and run required CRM reports as necessary.
- Update student records and assist in assessment as needed.
- Update recruitment presentations and other materials as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive recruitment and admissions strategies to attract a diverse and talented pool of prospective students.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong analytical and organisation skills.
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills.
- Candidate must have a valid driver's license, access to transportation, be willing to travel, and work required weekends and evenings.
