Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) serves the entire community, a population of 1.9 million in an area of over 5,500 square miles. NIFRS has a proud tradition and history of serving the community with distinction. NIFRS wish to invite applications from fully qualified accountants for the following Finance Business Partner (PO4) roles:

  • Fixed Term Contract - PEACEPLUS (18 - 21 Months*) - Use your financial expertise to support cross-border emergency services to maximise the impact of a world-class facility.
  • Fixed Term Contract - Digital, Data and Technology (18 - 24 Months*) - Play a key role in delivering an ambitious new digital transformation of our finance systems.
  • Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover (12 - 15 Months) - Step into a high-impact finance role, providing strategic financial advice across business cases, budget management and governance to help keep our community safe.
  • Permanent Vacancy - Be at the heart of our organisation's financial management, shaping critical decisions across budgets, business cases, procurement and governance that help keep Northern Ireland safe.

* with potential for possible extension subject to availability of funding.

The Finance Business Partner will deliver a complete financial management service to specified Directorates within NIFRS and play a key role in the overall financial management of the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for suitably qualified accountants, the role comes with an excellent benefits package including on-site parking, flexible working, generous holidays and gym facilities on-site.

Hours of work; Currently 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation. In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post. Hybrid working may also be available subject to service need.

Salary for PO4 is currently £46,142.00 - £49,282.00 per annum. There are currently four vacancies available (three Fixed Term and one permanent post) based at NIFRS HQ in Lisburn. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional fixed term or permanent vacancies arise.
