Head of Business Support

Overview

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) invites applications for the role of Head of Business Support, Job Ref N194 Sep 2025. The post is permanent and based at NIFRS Headquarters, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX. The salary is PO5 £47,754 to £50,788 per annum (under review).

Responsibilities

• Deliver on all business management requirements for the Infrastructure Department as allocated by the Assistant Director / Heads of Department. This includes provision of business planning; performance management; risk management; financial management; business improvement; audit, assurance and governance support; and administration team management.
• Serve as the NIFRS subject matter expert for the Computer Aided Facilities Management Systems (CAFM), leading on delivery and management of the system(s), ensuring the system(s) are fit for purpose and supported.
• Support the strategic development and delivery of business and project management solutions and manage the Administrative Business Support function across the Department; plan and coordinate work to ensure consistent service delivery.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Suitably qualified individuals; the post holder will be required to work in a manner that fulfils the obligations of the post.
• Experience with CAFM systems and ability to lead on their delivery, management, and ongoing suitability for purpose.

Working Arrangements & Details

• Hours of work: 36¼ hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation.
• Permanent post based at NIFRS Headquarters, with a reserve list for 12 months for future vacancies.
• The salary scale is PO5 (currently £47,754 to £50,788 per annum).
