The Woodland Trust is looking for a Communications Officer to drive media coverage and engaging content across Northern Ireland.

This role is advertised as full-time, 37.5 hours per week, however we would consider applications from those wanting reduced hours at 30 hours per week.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver the annual communications plan for Northern Ireland, aligning with national strategy while showcasing local projects and impact.
  • Prepare press releases, pitch stories, secure coverage and respond to media enquiries across print, broadcast and digital outlets.
  • Produce engaging copy for the website, social media, e-newsletters, magazines and promotional materials.
  • Manage PR activity for key events, including photo opportunities and celebrity involvement.
  • Work closely with the Brand & Communications team to localise national stories and ensure consistency of messaging.
  • Track communications activity in Northern Ireland and report on reach, engagement and outcomes.
  • This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working, and from our office in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Office attendance would be required no more than once a month on average. Occasional travel to other offices and remote locations may also be required.
  • This is a fixed term contract until end of December 2026.
