Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks) owns and operates the electricity transmission and distribution networks across Northern Ireland, delivering power safely and reliably to over 966,000 homes, businesses, and farms. While NIE Networks is part of ESB Group, it operates independently with its own Board and management teams, under the regulation of the Utility Regulator for Northern Ireland.
We have embarked on a journey to adopt digital technologies more effectively to meet the needs of our people, our customers and the energy system. This will involve incremental change, new ways of working and the adoption of new skills for everyone. At present we are seeking a talented individual to join the team as the Digital Enterprise Portfolio Manager. This role provides an opportunity for someone to make a real difference to the way NIE Networks digitally transforms for the future.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Digital Business Enablement and will be based at our newly refurbished office in Danesfort (off Stranmillis Road), Belfast. An Agile Home working policy is also in place.
The Enterprise Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end enterprise digital and transformation portfolio, ensuring that investment, resources, and delivery activity are aligned to organisational strategy, regulatory commitments, and business priorities. This role provides the governance, structure, and single source of truth across the CIO portfolio, linking business strategic objectives, funding, planning, delivery capacity, and benefits realisation.
The postholder will work across CIO, business directorates, finance, engineering, and external partners to ensure that change is prioritised, sequenced, and delivered in a controlled, transparent, and value-driven way. This role is critical to ensuring the organisation delivers its digital, operational, and regulatory commitments in a controlled and affordable way, providing the structure and oversight required to successfully manage a complex enterprise change portfolio.
