About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a skilled Site Fitter to join our team.
In this varied and hands-on role, you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of structural steel components, including access platforms, staircases, security doors, window barsets, cages, and kiosks.
You will play a crucial part in the entire installation lifecycle, from initial site surveying through to final completion and sign-off.
While predominantly site-based across varying indoor and outdoor construction environments, this role will also require you to work out of our workshop to assist with production as needed.
Hours
39 hours per week (plus available overtime) – flexibility is essential as shifts, travel to various client sites and occasional overnight stays will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and erect structural steel components and security products on-site.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings to mark out and assemble to precise technical specifications.
- Support the full installation process, from site surveying to final project completion.
- Repair, modify, line, and level existing and newly installed metal structures.
- Test and adjust manufactured metal goods to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Liaise effectively with main contractors, sub-contractors, and internal/external teams.
- Carry out remedial works and snagging, either independently or alongside a colleague.
- Complete all necessary documentation and works to ensure final sign-off by the main contractor.
- Assist with production in the workshop when required.
- Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites and in workshops.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven previous experience in steel erection, site installation, or sheet metal working.
- Valid CSCS Card (mandatory for construction-related site work).
- SSSTS qualification (required for supervisory site roles).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Physically capable of working in confined spaces, lifting heavy materials (up to 22kg), and working at heights.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certifications are highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in TIG or MIG welding is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Note: All necessary tools will be provided by the company; you are not required to supply your own.
