Job Title: People, Wellbeing & Operations Officer
Salary: £35,000 to £37,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Flexible (homeworking or office) with visits to Newcastle & Sunderland
Contract and Working Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 37 hours – Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a People, Wellbeing & Operations Officer to support the delivery of our HR, wellbeing and operational activities across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of People & Wellbeing, you’ll play a key role in ensuring colleagues receive a professional, responsive and employee-focused service throughout their employment journey. Alongside supporting our people and wellbeing agenda, you’ll contribute to wider corporate services activities, working across organisational projects and providing operational and finance-related support that helps ensure the smooth and effective running of the organisation.
This varied role covers all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations support, HR administration and wellbeing initiatives. You’ll also help coordinate programmes and activities that promote employee health, engagement, inclusion and a positive workplace culture.
As a first point of contact for HR and wellbeing enquiries, you’ll provide guidance and support to managers and colleagues, maintain accurate records and data, and contribute to projects and initiatives that help us achieve our organisational objectives.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in an HR or people-focused role
- Holds a CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or can demonstrate equivalent HR experience
- Has experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
- Understands HR practices, policies and employment legislation
- Has excellent organisational skills and can manage multiple priorities effectively
- Communicates confidently and builds positive relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information appropriately
- Has excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach to supporting people and improving processes
Experience supporting employee wellbeing programmes, engagement activities, data reporting, payroll administration, budget monitoring or finance processes would be advantageous but is not essential.
