We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Project Planner to join our Capital Projects team based at Thorpe Park, Leeds (LS15). We work a hybrid model; you will be expected in the office 3 days with the ability to work from home on other days.

In this role you will provide essential project planning services to the Capital Projects design, procurement, and delivery function within NGN. You will be reviewing, checking and producing project plans and progress reports to support the Capital projects team. Predominantly using Primavera P6 Pro planning software alongside MS Excel and PowerPoint you will support the Project Managers to supervise planning and progress monitoring functions during design and construction activities. Your contribution will be invaluable as you audit the plans, schedules and progress reports produced by our framework contractors, advising both the Project Manager and appointed Quantity Surveyor on any deviations or risks.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and checking contractor's project programmes and updating them on Primavera P6 Pro.
  • Producing a master report(s) upon receipt of the programme of work.
  • Detailing changes with Project Managers and confirming acceptance/rejection of programmes received.
  • Produce project plans, progress reports, management information and dashboards as required to support the delivery of Capital Projects alongside schedule estimates and forecasts for design, procurement and delivery project scopes whilst supporting the preparation of business cases.
  • Assist on all capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects with value engineering studies, ‘what if' analysis, resource levelling initiatives, lessons learned reviews etc.

What we are looking for:

  • Understanding and experience of the planning and progress projects.
  • Experienced user of Primavera P6 Pro and all MS Office products including MS Project.
  • Ability to review a project including establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS) and identifying the critical path by studying the required delivery logic.
  • Experience of delivering MI and progress reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ideally have understanding of the full project lifecycle.
  • Good communicator skills both written and verbal.

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hybrid working with three days a week at our office in Leeds.
