Starting salary from £44,112 rising to £51,842 once fully competent. Bonus + Incentives + Overtime + Standby + Van. Permanent role located across Yorkshire including Hull, Leeds and Bradford.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Maintenance Craftsperson (Electrical) which is a mobile role focusing on maintaining, inspecting, and testing electrical systems on a variety of gas sites owned and operated by NGN. Our systems range from simple lighting and power to complex backup power systems. The department has recently merged with our Capital Projects team, making this exciting in terms of developing further skills and working cross-functionally.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lone working out of hours
  • Variable work patterns (when required)
  • Standby 365 days a year on a rota basis ideally 1 in 4
  • Testing & Inspection of electrical Systems
  • Fault finding on Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of standby generators
  • Repair and replacement of components, fittings, and fixtures
  • Completion of paperwork/systems for results and readings
  • Commissioning of equipment
  • Use of IT in the field for work reporting
  • Gas Quality work (development required for all)

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant electrical apprenticeship (City & Guilds) & NVQ
  • Minimum BTEC or ONC Level (Electrical)
  • Logical thinker, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive attitude and a strong team player, whilst also having the ability to work on your own initiative
  • You should ideally possess several years' operational experience in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

It would be advantageous if you have any or all of the below:

  • EUSR Gas passport
  • COMPEX EX 01,02,03,04
  • Testing & Inspection 2391 (or equivalent)
  • SCO 1, 2 and 4
  • Experience on gas distribution systems
  • EL6 sign off (Authorised Person)
  • TEM 2,4,5
  • HNC – Electrical Biased

What we offer you:

  • £44,112 per annum + bonus according to the operational incentive mechanism + van + overtime rising to £51,842 dependent on qualifying competencies at each stage.
  • Hours per week will be 41.25 and operate over a 24-hour period, over a seven-day working week, including standby.
  • 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period)
  • SSP for first 2 calendar days then occupational sick pay
