The predicted salary is between 35400 - 59000 Β£ per year.

Up to Β£59,111 per annum depending upon skills and experience

We have an amazing opportunity for an Asset Integrity Engineer to join our team. Depending on where you live you will be based from either our Thorpe Park office in Leeds (LS15) or our Doxford Park office in Sunderland (SR3).

You will be joining the Asset Integrity team, who are the custodians of all NGN's assets; with over 2,500 above ground assets ranging from offtakes to district governors and 37,000km of pipelines including 1,200km of high-pressure pipelines to oversee. It’s a role where variety is assured, along with enjoying a wide range of responsibilities.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge across a range of key areas - from engineering policies and standards, through to safety management systems and engineering.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Act as a point of contact for compliance queries, assessing additions or changes to existing legislation and make recommendations with regards to their impact on NGN's policies and activities.
  • Review, assess and update engineering documents.
  • Manage Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR) compliance activities.
  • Review the condition of NGN transmission assets and develop integrity management plans.
  • Effectively manage risk to ensure the long-term reliability of NGN assets.
  • Validate mechanical systems on site.
  • Support HSE liaison involving transmission pipelines and above ground installation assets.
  • Work with partners, stakeholders and customers to ensure completion of Integrity related projects.
  • Support the review of project design and construction records.
  • Liaise with operations colleagues to resolve technical issues.
  • Liaise with operations teams and other stakeholders to ensure asset upgrade programmes are compliant with requirements.
  • Support regulatory reporting and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Represent NGN on external industry committees and working groups.

Candidates wanting to apply should:

  • Hold a degree or higher national diploma in a technical or numerical subject or are still working towards this qualification.
  • Have some experience in asset integrity, engineering or operational based role.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
  • Having your Gas Passport/Safety Health & Environmental awareness (SHEA) and Safe Control of Operations (SCO) 1 & 2 are desirable but not essential.
  • Be conversant with above and below ground Transmission Assets.
  • Have a good understanding of the gas network operations.
  • Be knowledgeable of asset integrity and compliance management principles.
  • Be knowledgeable of engineering and risk management.
  • Have a good understanding of legislative requirements & documentation including Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR) and Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR).
  • Be a logical thinker, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with a key attention to detail.
  • Have a proactive attitude; be a strong team player whilst also having the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Be an experienced user of Microsoft Office applications (SAP would be an advantage).

  • Salary is up to Β£59,111 per annum dependent upon skills and experience.
  • Car Allowance of Β£6,500 per annum.
