Salary from £44,112 + Operational Incentive Scheme + Van
41.25 hours work pattern over 7 days – including standby/callout rota (includes night shift dependent on workload requirements).

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Network Maintenance Craftsperson to join our Network Maintenance team, which operates as part of our wider Capital Projects function. This structure offers great opportunities to collaborate across teams, develop new skills, and grow your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
In this mobile role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and calibration of instrument systems across a variety of gas sites owned and operated by Northern Gas Networks (NGN). These systems range from simple transmitter loops to complex fiscal metering systems, giving you the chance to work with a wide range of technologies and challenges.
In this role you will
- Carry out maintenance, calibrate, and conduct fault-finding on a range of instrumentation systems
- Perform repairs and replacements of components, fittings, and fixtures as needed
- Commission equipment and ensure it meets operational standards
- Accurately record results and readings, complete all necessary documentation, and update internal systems
- Use field-based IT systems to report work and maintain records in real time
- Support Gas Quality work (development required by all)
- Participate in a 365-day standby rota, ideally 1 in every 4 weeks
We are looking for
- A recognised Instrumentation Apprenticeship (e.g. City & Guilds) and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a logical approach
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Solid understanding of engineering instructions, codes of practice, and health & safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to make sound decisions in the field
- A commitment to continuous learning and development, with a willingness to adapt and grow
