We have an exciting opportunity to join us here at NGN as a Maintenance Engineering Auditor. You will be responsible for delivering Maintenance Engineering audits over all types of Maintenance work performed on NGN Pipelines and Above Ground sites by both NGN staff and external contractors, following defined methodologies for audit assignments and scheduling of work to achieve the planned objectives.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that your work meets the quality standards expected by the company and is performed efficiently.

Key accountabilities
• Responsibility for the timely completion of audit reviews to the required standard for assigned audit reviews
• To ensure audit methodologies are continually reviewed and updated to ensure the most appropriate approach is taken
• For standard Engineering Audits, take responsibility for recording results and reporting results to operational management for them to take appropriate remedial action
• Ensure company’s actions attained from the audit are compliant with policies, standards, procedures and applicable laws/regulations
• To promote and maintain good relations with management ensuring audit work is undertaken with integrity, competence, objectivity and confidentiality

What we are looking for
• Experienced Gas Distribution Network Maintenance Engineer or Manager. This aspect of the role is key as you will be expected to perform audits over all aspects of Maintenance work being undertaken on NGN High Pressure Pipelines and all Above Ground Sites to ensure that all work is being undertaken in compliance with NGN Policies and Procedures and appropriate IGEM industry guidance. As such, you must be a qualified/experienced Gas Distribution Network Maintenance Engineer to be able to effectively assess the work being performed.
• Good understanding and knowledge of IGEM TD1 and IGEM TD13 industry requirements and Pipeline Safety Regulations and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations legislative requirements would also be highly advantageous.
• Ability to manage own time and develop and undertake work plans with minimal supervision. The role will not require the successful applicant to perform Standby duties and provides the ability to manage own time and thus ensure a good work life balance.
• An ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and make conclusions and recommendations
• An ability to maintain current knowledge of developments related to business matters of interest to Safety Assurance, particularly legislation changes and regulation developments, and new engineering techniques and practices
• An ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with other company staff and external stakeholders including the Health and Safety Executive and be able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal

• A competitive salary range of £50,644 – £58,458 per annum, exact starting salary dependent upon skills and experience
