Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to come join us in a newly created business stream and role as a Head of Business Operations. Working in conjunction with the Energy Innovation Centre’s (EIC) Managing Director, you will lead in key business operations, setting standards and developing the organisation’s culture, values, and ways of working. Our vision is ‘To accelerate a fair and sustainable decarbonisation for all’. Our mission is to ‘Establish an ecosystem delivering information to accelerate decisions by stakeholders to drive decarbonisation for people and places’. Based at Low Thornley at our NeRV centre (Net Zero Research Village), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and performance of agreed commercial targets ensuring all objectives and KPIs are achieved whilst driving continuous improvement. This will include increasing the value delivered by the research village working strategically to ensure evolving needs are met.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and innovators ensuring that their evolving needs are understood and met, to grow and strengthen the NeRV community.
  • Creating and implementing strategies for sustainable business growth, including the development of new business opportunities.
  • Overseeing operational activities to evaluate the agility and efficiency of processes. Identifying enhancements to improve performance, maintain high-quality services, and streamline workflows.
  • Support a high-performing team encouraging and promoting a consultative and collaborative approach.
  • Driving continuous improvement and identifying new initiatives to effect change in the energy industry and enhance the experience of both customers and stakeholders of NeRV.

What We Are Looking For

  • Leadership and managerial experience with the ability to define strategic approach leading delivery, actions, and change.
  • Strong business financial/commercial acumen.
  • Credible influencing and engagement skills with the ability to lead and motivate across stakeholders across a wide range of organisations.
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills able to plan and coordinate multiple work programmes simultaneously.
  • Personal alignment to our Vision and Mission.

What We Offer

  • Starting salary from £66,844.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Up to 15% bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets).
  • 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period).
  • SSP for first 2 calendar days then occupational sick pay.
