Northern Gas and Power (a subsidiary of Global Procurement Group) is an international energy procurement specialist and is the largest energy consultancy in Europe. We guide businesses of all sizes ranging from SMEs to global organisations in purchasing their energy contracts.
We set up comprehensive strategies for organisations to procure their energy contracts; negotiate contracts with energy suppliers; introduce and operate risk management frameworks; collect, check, and analyse invoices; and calculate organisations’ GHG emissions and carbon footprints.

The opportunity
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will support the company in finding and recruiting new employees. Within this you will identify, attract, screen, shortlist, and interview suitable candidates for a range of roles within our organisation.
You will be expected to create candidate pipelines for various vacancies through networking, whilst utilising all avenues possible to attract candidates to our roles.
What exactly will you do?
- Manage pipelines in a timely manner.
- Look to identify talent pools and appropriately match talent to the right roles.
- Manage hiring managers expectations.
- Work with hiring managers to develop an appropriate recruitment and selection process.
- Respond to applicants and support a positive candidate experience.
- Update systems accordingly.
- Provide regular reports on vacancies.
- Identify challenges and look to implement solutions.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to write job ads for current international openings.
- Advertise job openings on careers pages, job boards and social networks (e.g. LinkedIn)
- Source candidates through online channels (e.g. professional networks and CV databases)
- Screen CV’s and applications and update candidates on hiring processes.
- Interview candidates during various hiring stages, including phone, 1st and 2nd interviews and face to face interviews.
- Fill out all paperwork in interview with candidates and save all relevant paperwork in candidate files.
- Obtain necessary right to work documentation from the candidate.
- Evaluate candidates based on their interview and assignment performance.
- Determine qualification criteria for each position.
- Analyse turnover and retention rates to forecast hiring needs.
- Provide interview feedback, when necessary and appropriate.
- Ensure they comply with all company operating policies and procedure.
- Any other duties that are deemed appropriate from time to time.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in volume recruitment exposure, ideally within sales
- Experience in an internal talent acquisition function (desirable)
- Excellent telephone manner
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience using various interview formats (e.g. phone, structured, group)
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and CV databases.
- Solid understanding of either resourcing as a standalone skill or full-cycle recruiting
- Ability to learn quickly and to work independently to achieve deadlines and targets.
- A calm, methodical, level-headed approach
