Hi, we’re Northern Gas and Power
Northern Gas and Power, part of Global Procurement Group, is Europe’s largest energy consultancy.
We support more than 40,000 customers internationally, helping businesses manage energy procurement, reduce commercial risk and navigate volatile markets with greater confidence.
Over the last decade, the business has grown significantly across the UK, Europe, India and Dubai. But the culture has stayed consistent. We back people who work hard, take ownership and want to build something long term.
You’ll work alongside experienced specialists across procurement, trading, customer operations and commercial leadership, gaining exposure to a market most people only understand from headlines.
The opportunity
Energy has become one of the biggest commercial pressures facing businesses.
Customers are looking for guidance, confidence and commercially sound decisions in a market that changes constantly. That creates opportunity for salespeople who can build trust, ask the right questions and operate with professionalism.
You won’t be expected to know everything on day one. You will be trained properly, supported by experienced leaders and given the structure to develop real commercial capability over time.
What you’ll be doing
- Speaking with business customers about their energy contracts and procurement approach
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes
- Building and managing your own commercial pipeline
- Supporting tender discussions, pricing conversations and supplier negotiations
- Working closely with experienced closers and commercial managers
- Managing customer relationships professionally and compliantly
- Operating in line with company standards, governance and processes
This role is designed to develop people properly. Many of our senior leaders started in frontline sales roles and progressed through the business by consistently delivering results.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in B2B sales
- Strong communication skills and confidence on the phone
- Comfortable working in a target-driven commercial environment
- Organised and capable of managing your own activity
- Resilient, coachable and motivated to improve
- Professional, disciplined and commercially aware
- Interested in building a long-term career, not just finding your next role
- Energy experience helps, but attitude and work ethic matter more.
