Salary: Initially £31,049 - £37,796 per annum (Band 5 equivalent) Rising to £38,682 - £46,580 per annum (Band 6 equivalent) on successful completion of the GPN Training Programme

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
GP Federations are not-for-profit Community Interest Companies consisting of GP Practices in defined areas or localities. The primary objective of each individual Federation is to support GP Practices and provide better care, delivered in a more responsive way and closer to home, for all our patients.
Job Summary: The Federations wish to recruit for Trainee General Practice Nurses; this role will provide a unique opportunity for qualified nurses, wishing to pursue a career as a General Practice Nurse, to undertake a period of further training and development based in a GP Surgery within the relevant GP Federation area. The Trainee will work over a 5-day working week, between Monday and Friday, with one day per week normally used for training when participating in Training and Education programmes.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold Adult Nurse Registration (First Level) on the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Register AND a minimum of 1 year post registration experience
- Demonstrate full understanding of the current NMC Code and Scope of Professional Practice
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge of current nursing practice
- Demonstrate commitment to the education and training components of this role
