Help Deliver One of the UK's Most Significant Energy Transition Projects

The Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) is developing the infrastructure required to transport and permanently store carbon dioxide beneath the North Sea, creating a critical component of the UK's carbon capture and storage network.

We are looking for an experienced Subsea & Facilities Lead to provide technical and project leadership across the development and delivery of major offshore CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to work on a first-of-a-kind project that will support the decarbonisation of industrial clusters and play a vital role in the UK's net zero ambitions.

Based in Darlington with a hybrid working pattern of three days per week in the office, you will lead subsea, pipeline and facilities activities and work closely with engineering, project delivery, subsurface, wells, commercial and regulatory teams to ensure successful project execution.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the subsea and facilities scope across the full project lifecycle.
  • Providing technical leadership for offshore facilities, subsea infrastructure and transportation pipelines.
  • Managing technical interfaces between engineering, subsurface, wells, commercial and project delivery functions.
  • Supporting project maturation activities, business case development and investment decisions.
  • Managing FEED studies, engineering contractors and major supply chain partners.
  • Driving contractor performance through procurement, execution and delivery.Supporting regulatory engagement, permitting and compliance activities.
  • Leading technical assurance, risk management and governance processes.
  • Building strong relationships with joint venture partners, regulators and key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent.
  • Significant experience delivering offshore energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Subsea systems
  • Offshore facilities
  • Major project development and delivery
  • Experience across concept selection, FEED, execution and handover phases.
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong contractor and interface management experience.
  • Commercial awareness and contract management capability.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Experience within Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) projects.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Joint venture and partnership management experience.
  • Exposure to CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure.
