Northern Education Trust’s Hetton Academy is seeking to appoint a Technology Technician. The successful candidate will assist in providing a safe and efficient technical service for pupils and teaching staff, and work closely with teaching staff to support, develop and further extend the department’s work and the experiences of the pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day‑to‑day support of the Technology department, as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Organise and maintain the workshop.
  • Prepare equipment for practical demonstration lessons and clean down and store all equipment securely at the end of each lesson.
  • Work well with both children and adults, demonstrating excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Support and Development

The role is supported by the Director of Subjects and offers a full and detailed programme of support and development. A comprehensive programme of professional development, including leadership, is provided through the NET Staff College.

Working Conditions

Working type: Part Time, 18.5 hours per week, over 39 working weeks with 45.942 paid weeks. Location: Hetton Academy, North Road, Hetton le Hole, Houghton le Spring DH5 9JZ. Salary is quoted for the period 1 September to 31 August; if you commence part way through the academic year the salary will be equated accordingly.
