Northern Education Trust, Thorp Academy is looking for an exceptional Cover Manager to join our academy team. In this vital role you will manage schedules and serve as the heartbeat of the school's daily operations, ensuring that every student experiences a seamless, high‑quality learning environment even when regular teachers are unavailable.
Responsibilities
- Take direct responsibility for the performance management and ongoing development of our Cover Supervisors.
- Work closely with external supply agencies to book, monitor, and provide feedback on supply staff.
- Meet incoming supply staff on arrival, ensuring they are fully inducted and aware of all academy policies.
- Accurately report absences in the MIS system and support colleagues with daily cover and room allocations.
- Supervise whole classes during short‑term absences, implementing work programmes and managing student behaviour constructively.
- Supervise student entry and departure, assist in exam invigilation, and escort pupils on educational visits.
