We’re looking for an Imports & Exports Coordinator to join our team at our Appley Bridge headquarters. This is a role for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys keeping things moving.

You’ll play an important part in making sure our products get where they need to go — whether that’s across the UK or to customers and distributors around the world. You’ll co-ordinate shipments, work with freight partners and suppliers, prepare documentation and help make sure our imports and exports run smoothly from start to finish.

It’s a varied role where no two days are exactly the same. You’ll be working across air, sea and road freight, dealing with different countries, carriers and requirements, while working closely with our sales, warehouse and wider teams. If you enjoy being organised, solving problems and making sure the details are taken care of, this could be the role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinating day-to-day import and export logistics across air, sea and road freight.
• Managing shipments from start to finish, including imports, exports and transshipments.
• Working with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, couriers and internal teams to keep shipments moving.
• Preparing and processing shipping, customs, commercial and transport documentation.
• Monitoring shipments and keeping customers and colleagues updated on progress.
• Dealing with delivery issues, discrepancies and customs queries when they arise.
• Supporting customs declarations and providing the required information to HMRC.
• Booking and managing shipments through bonded warehouse systems and Sage 200.
• Gathering shipment readiness information from suppliers and coordinating consolidated loads.
• Maintaining accurate shipment records, filing and reporting.
• Monitoring freight costs and assisting with quotations and freight rates.
• Working with freight forwarders and transport partners to ensure competitive and efficient shipping arrangements.
• Ensuring import and export activity complies with UK customs requirements, international trade regulations and company procedures.
• Helping identify ways to improve our logistics and import/export processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys keeping things on track. Someone who pays attention to the details, can manage several things at once and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone and get things moving when there’s a problem.

You’ll ideally be:

• Experienced in logistics, transportation or import/export operations.
• Familiar with customs procedures and international trade requirements.
• Experienced in, or have a good understanding of, customs declarations.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with suppliers, customers, freight companies and colleagues.
• Able to manage multiple shipments and priorities at the same time.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
• A good problem solver who can remain calm when things don’t go to plan.
• Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Familiar with logistics, stock or business management systems.
• Experience with Sage 200 would be an advantage.
