Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Northern Data. In this role, you will be responsible for managing month-end and year-end processes, statutory reporting, and maintaining accurate General Ledger records across our EU entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a background in audit or accounting, and experience in multi-territory, multi-currency environments. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Process and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
2. Ensure bank and cash accounts are regularly reconciled
3. Prepare and post monthly expense accruals, prepayments, deferred revenues, and expenses
4. Collaborate with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support (e.g., Treasury, FP&A)
5. Manage the month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes at the local level
6. Prepare group reporting deliverables on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
7. Assist with the preparation of financial statements at a local level with support from the Finance Manager
8. Support group and local statutory audits
9. Assist in the preparation of governmental filings such as VAT returns, EU Sales Listings, and other statistical reports
10. Create controls documentation to evidence the operation of financial controls
11. Support the Finance Manager on special ad-hoc projects as required

YOUR REQUIREMENTS:

1. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA(SA))
2. Ideally 4-5 years of experience (1-2 PQE), with experience in multi-territory and multi-currency accounting
3. Audit training/background preferred
4. Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
5. SAP/S4 Hana experience preferred; training available
6. Strong Excel skills (SUMIFs, Pivots, VLOOKUPS) and familiarity with Microsoft Office
7. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment managing multiple priorities
8. Solid understanding of Local GAAP and IFRS; experience with statutory accounts and audits preferred
9. Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
