This is an exciting new opportunity to join our society, health and development team. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Tutor who will work as part of the curriculum team to take a lead role in the delivery of our counselling provision.
We're looking for someone who is student focused and committed to delivering an excellent learning experience to our adult learners, helping them to gain confidence and achieve. Working closely with curriculum colleagues you will develop the provision and ensure students are at the centre of delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, implementation and management of an agreed area of the College’s curriculum to ensure it meets both funder and individual student need and is of a high quality.
- To work with the Head of Curriculum to plan, implement and review annually a programme of courses in line with the College Curriculum Plan.
- To coordinate in-house quality assurance procedures to ensure that all provision complies with college requirements and meets expectations.
- To coordinate the requirements of awarding organisations with the support of the Quality Assurance Lead, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- To coordinate and participate in the design and development of teaching and learning materials, including those required for blended and online delivery within agreed curriculum area.
- Experience and knowledge of delivering Counselling at Level 3 and above and mentoring qualifications
- Level 5 Teaching qualification
- A Level 4 Counselling qualification
- BACP membership will be essential
- IQA qualification or willing to achieve
- English & maths at Level 2 or above

The college is currently in pre-merger discussions with Barnsley College with a proposed merger date scheduled for 1 March 2026. In the event that the successful candidate commences in employment on or after 1 March 2026, and merger takes place, candidates will be employed on Barnsley College terms and conditions. Further details regarding this will be provided at interview.
