With demand on our services at an all-time high, the role our department provides has never been more critical. We have an opportunity for a Medical Support Secretary to join our busy team.

We will give you :

Main duties of the job

As a Support Secretary your main duties will cover:

  • Medical audio typing.
  • Carry out administrative instructions including booking and cancelling appointments, updating investigation logs and supporting the Medical secretaries when required.
  • Deal with internal and external telephone enquiries from patients, staff and external agencies.
  • Undertake routine office duties including printing, scanning and filing.

  • Be able to prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Pride yourself on being organised.
  • Be confident using a computer and Microsoft Office.
  • Have an excellent telephone manner.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and manage patient expectation.
  • Strive to give our patients an excellent customer service.
  • Be enthusiastic, resilient, confident, and committed.

Qualifications

  • Word processing - Qualified to RSA II or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills

Experience

  • Experience of successfully working within a team tight time frames and to deadlines
  • PA Experience

Knowledge

  • Secretarial knowledge of office practice and procedures
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience (RSA II or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the Trust’s current information technology systems e.g, Medisec, iSOFT, PAS, CRIS, Symphony, Healthviews etc.

Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
