Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Assistant to join our integrated in-patient medical Therapy Team at Fairfield General Hospital.
We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure the provision of timely, safe and compassionate care to our patients.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists within the integrated medical therapy team and be able to work well within a team but also independently when required.
The role includes assisting in the assessment of patients, promoting function and assisting with activities of daily living, supervising exercises and mobility practice, and completing administrative duties.

Previous experience of working in an assistant role in either Health or Social Care is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Support the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing assessments and establishing the physical and functional limitations of patients.
- Support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in rehabilitation of patients on the medical wards and maintain documentation required for these.
- Demonstrate and work through exercises with patients.
- Undertake associated administrative duties e.g. initial assessments, monitoring stock levels, ordering equipment, photocopying, completing referrals.
