Overview
The Supply Technician 1 is responsible for managing inventory in assigned nursing and/or ancillary units. This includes supply replenishment, maximizing quality, minimizing costs, and supporting department goals within supply chain objectives.
Responsibilities
Operations
- Picks orders utilizing the handheld scanner.
- Uses Lawson to identify products.
- Delivers orders to clinical areas.
- Performs cycle counts in assigned areas.
- Participates in the annual physical inventory count.
- Manages outdates using FIFO and bin rotation.
- Responds to emergency phone calls and supply requests.
- Provides information about warehouse supplies.
- Ensures inventory is issued and distributed properly.
- Controls consumable supplies to reduce obsolescence and waste through product rotation and communication with the Supply Chain Leadership team.
- Acts as a liaison for replenishment orders and emergent product requests.
Documentation
- Maintains timely records of orders, receipts, and packing slips.
- Reports inventory discrepancies such as shortages and damages.
Education
- Teaches colleagues standard inventory replenishment procedures.
Compliance/Safety
- Reports safety incidents promptly via the Midas/RDE tool.
- Attends safety training and performs work safely.
- Monitors the work environment for safety issues and ensures team compliance.
- Stays current with and complies with relevant regulations and policies.
- Ensures all certifications and licenses are valid and up-to-date.
- Completes mandatory and job-specific training timely.
